Olympia Fire Dept extinguishes bedroom fire in NW Olympia

The Olympia Fire Department successfully extinguished a fire in a bedroom on the 2000 blk. of Peach Ave NW, off Division Street in Olympia on Tuesday evening.

Firefighters were first dispatched at 8:11 pm for a smoke investigation in the area. Fire Engine O-2 arrived on scene and immediately called for more units for a residential structure fire in progress. Three more engines, a ladder truck, two medic units and a command unit were dispatched to the scene. McLane-Black Lake Fire Department provided one engine.

The fire was put out in short time, and the damage is estimated to be around $15,000. The four occupants are being sheltered by the Red Cross. There were no working smoke detectors in the home, according to the fire department.
