Police raid Olympia Stand Railroad Blockade for 2nd year in a row

Seems like deja’vu, doesn’t it? For the second year in a row, Union Pacific Railroad Police assisted by the Olympia Police Department have raided and vacated an encampment on the railroad tracks downtown occupied by Olympia Stand protesters, protesting the movement of fracking proppants through the Port of Olympia.

Police first made contact around 4:30 a.m. Wednesday morning. At 4:48 a.m. officers reported that they were being confronted by 20-30 masked protesters.

The blockade began Nov. 17.
