Sheriff K9 apprehends suspect – three times – who tries to steal police car with the dog inside

A man was arrested Friday night in Lacey after an attempt to steal a police car didn’t go the way he hoped.

Sheriff’s deputy Bagby and K9 Jaxx were dispatched for a report of a man attempting to steal several cars in a parking lot. It was also reported that the subject had a gun.

When the deputy and K9 arrived on scene, the suspect took off on foot and after a short chase, was located in a nearby parking lot. The suspect then attempted to jump in to the passenger side of the police vehicle in an attempt to steal it.

It turned out that the pass-thru between the front seat and the dog compartment was open, and K9 Jaxx jumped through and helped apprehend the suspect. The suspect ran again, and even though a Taser was deployed, still had to be apprehended once again by K9 Jaxx.

A third time, the suspect bolted and tried to fight and grab the deputy’s equipment and weapons so K9 Jaxx apprehended the suspect again – for a third, and final time.
