Three Lacey businesses busted for selling alcohol to minors

The Lacey Police Department, along with many other departments, frequently conducts alcohol-sales compliance checks on area businesses. Three businesses failed the check on Friday night.

The department sends in underage undercover operatives to attempt to purchase alcohol. They did this with 21 businesses on Friday night.

Three businesses failed. They include the Safeway on Yelm Highway and College, the Viking Tavern, and Lucky 7 Food Mart on Pacific Avenue.

The employees who made the sales will receive a criminal citation for distributing alcohol to a minor and will need to go to court and likely pay a fine. The businesses they work for will be referred to the State Liquor & Cannabis Control Board for further evaluation & investigation.

Questions about these compliance checks should be directed to Lacey Police Sgt. Matt Koehler, 360-459-4333.
